[Luceti] [1st • Written] (backdated to the 12th ok)
[part 1 - arrival]
[ in the world he comes from, knowledge of what exists beyond the three walls that both confine and protect humanity is limited, even forbidden. Though he's ventured beyond the outermost wall - something that only the Survey Corps is capable of doing, and always with sacrifices - Levi knows humanity has only seen an immeasurable fraction of what it once had. He cannot begin to fathom what the rest of the world could be like outside of their short ventures beyond the walls.
So when he awakens in this place, it doesn't occur to him that it could be a different world entirely.
Although the wings are unsettling. Those are new. And itchy as hell. ]
The fuck...
[ in a world where people can transform into titans taller than the monstrous walls that keep them caged, the sudden appearance of wings somehow doesn't seem that terribly far fetched, even if he has no idea how or why, or - more importantly - whom.]
[Part 2 - recon: Written/Action]
[ It's been several hours now, and all of the information he's gathered so far is confusing at best and disturbing at worst. Knowledge of the outside world had been limited, but knowledge of other worlds? Unheard of. He's still trying to wrap is head around it.
After checking for the gear (nowhere to be found, much to his irritation, and thankfully he hadn't had to go far for his uniform), he finds a bench and takes out the journal-like device and studies it thoughtfully. The technology is foreign, and somehow it seems exceedingly fragile - though there is a space to write, and that's all he needs at the moment to help organize his thoughts.
So the following appears, in meticulous, elegant penmanship that he'd only learned a few years ago:]
[ooc: intro for Levi! Feel free to respond via journal (he's unfamiliar with technology so expect a WTF reaction for the first few replies), or find him wandering around town.
ALSO: Threads with the AOT cast will very likely contain spoilers for events that happen in the manga after the anime!]

- No reports or knowledge so far of Titans among general populace
- No walls - a 'dome' keeps people in by someone/something called the 'Malnosso'
- Inhabitants appear to be from diverse locations
- Human experiments...need more information about these damn wings
- Captors supposedly provide unlimited food, clothing, shelter. Pretty fucking convenient way to keep people placated.
- Currently no 3DMG found; other weapons readily available
- Technology much more advanced than anything found within the walls ("Electricity?")
- Rumors of a war with a group called the 'Third Party' that seeks to exterminate all living within the dome - motivation unknown
- ...animals can talk...fucking creepy; might be useful
Require more information about location, threats, etc.Where the fuck am I and how do I get home.

[ perma action ]
He's just finished writing the last item in when he happens to glance up, and a familiar figure walks into his field of view. There's no mistaking Erwin Smith, not even with those wings that look comically small on those broad shoulders.
Levi is up off the bench and striding across the plaza in seconds, steps brisk and sharp on the stones. He calls to him before he reaches Erwin's side.]
Erwin.
no subject
Levi.
[ It's more an acknowledgement than a greeting. He stands, though he allows Levi to reach him before he says anything further. ]
Your status?
[ Not quite 'how are you doing,' but it carries roughly the same meaning. Levi appears unhurt (disregarding injuries he's already aware of) and no more out of sorts than Erwin himself, but it's best to confirm before pressing further. ]
no subject
I'm fine-
[it's then that he realizes: Erwin's right arm is still firmly attached to his body, moving and everything. He stares at it a moment, face masked in his typical frown. Limbs don't simply reappear, not unless the person has the capability of shifting into a titan, and it'd already been over a week since Erwin had been injured. Something was off, and he shifts his weight to his right foot, eyes flickering back up to Erwin's.]
What about you?
no subject
[ He breezes past the question as though it means little to him, because it does. He has no idea what the extent of his injuries--in Levi's mind--should be. ]
I assume you've been looking into our current situation as well. Shall we compare notes?
[ Erwin eager to cross-reference his new knowledge with Levi's, and see what information holds up. He's heard rumors about stopping time; it would be good if that were true. He's very much needed at home right now, and time is of the essence. The last thing he wants is to abandon his men beyond the wall without him--and especially before recovering Eren. ]
no subject
His eyes narrow slightly.]
Sure. After you tell me the last thing you remember before waking up here.
no subject
It was confirmed that there was no visible breach in Wall Rose. I set out beyond the wall with a combined Survey Corps and Military Police force in pursuit of the Armored Titan, with the objective to retrieve Eren. As of now, that mission is incomplete.
[ And they are surrounded by Titans, but he doesn't mention that. Erwin doesn't want to frustrate Levi further over the fact that he was unable to be there.
His brows knit, concerned and wary. ]
What do you last recall, Levi?
no subject
...You completed the mission. Eren was successfully retrieved, but the others got away.
[which may or may not have been the case had he been there, like how Erwin may or may not had to have lost his arm.]
no subject
I see.
[ While it isn't the ideal result, Survey Corps missions rarely end ideally. At least they accomplished what they set out to do. It's more than can be said for most expeditions. ]
I'm glad that at least one of us was aware of the outcome. [ It sets his mind at least slightly more at ease. ]
no subject
The objective had been achieved, but Levi would say that the loss of Erwin's arm posed nearly an even greater threat. He's weakened now, at least in physical capability; it'll be incredibly difficult for him to lead the Survey Corps - impossible into battle - in this state, even more so than it already is given how many people in the government wanted to see the Corps disbanded. Ironic given that the same people also cry the loudest for being secure inside the walls, a security that very recently has been shattered.]
...yeah.
How long have you been here?
no subject
A few hours.
[ He'd gathered, from Levi's agreement to compare notes earlier, that he'd only recently arrived as well. ]
I've learned quite a bit in that time, though I think I've barely scratched the surface.
no subject
[a fact he appears to be incredibly thrilled about.]
But there's two you'll be interested in. They're from the 104th trainee corps; Jean Kirstein...
...and Marco Bott.
1/2
Not so different from home, then.
[ Tilting his head back toward the Welcome Center, indicating the bench he'd been seated on before Levi had joined him. ] Let's sit.
2/2
Erwin sits, and he frowns. ]
Marco Bott. [ He repeats the name as though it will make more sense that way. ] So the dead can be revived here. Or perhaps he doesn't remember dying at all.
no subject
According to Jean, it's the latter. Apparently he was brought here just before his death during the fighting in Trost.
no subject
He can't help but wonder, himself, what Levi's wings look like. But they're beneath is cloak, and he won't ask him to remove it just for the sake of his own inane curiosity. ]
So you've spoken with Jean. Have you met Marco?
no subject
[you'll have to ask at this point, Erwin. It's cold out, so he's wrapped up. Frankly he's surprised that Erwin hasn't bothered to put on his own cloak.]
I'm going to guess that you haven't met anyone else we know.
no subject
If not directly, then how?
[ A brief glance down at the journal. He may already know. ]
I haven't. You're the first.
[ Erwin hadn't been so lucky as to find his own cloak just yet, and wearing his jacket over the wings simply isn't comfortable. Thankfully, the alternate clothing he'd picked out is warm enough, and seems designed with the wings in mind. ]
no subject
I figured.
no subject
What did you do when you used it?
no subject
[short, simple. He pulls out his journal and opens it to show Erwin. The list he'd made is there, along with a handful of replies in different handwriting in between Levi's own careful script.]
no subject
[ But he doesn't wait for Levi's permission. Carefully, he slides the journal from Levi's fingers in order to examine it more closely. He gives Levi's list and the responses it received a quick skim, intrigued. He can understand the concept perfectly well, but it's still strange. Creepy, even, as Levi had put it. Yet undoubtedly useful. ]
Have you been told whether or not it is possible to write to only one person?
[ He's pressing buttons, now, specifically the link to the guide which several people provided Levi with. ]
no subject
Some kid mentioned it, but otherwise I haven't been able to work that out yet.
Most people are surprisingly easy to get information out of.
no subject
[ Eager to help, even. He's paging through the guide still, though only half reading it. He'll look through it in its entirety at little later. ]
From what I've gathered, we could be here for quite some time.
[ It isn't a thought he likes, but it may be a reality they'll have to deal with. ]
We should make preparations with that in mind.
no subject
Jean and Marco appear to be living some sort of 'community building'. We should find some place to go so we can start making preparations.
[such as gathering things like food. And lots of it, because he doesn't want to risk being without should the Malnosso decide to suddenly stop being so generous. And weapons, in the event the gear takes some time to show up.]
no subject
You think that it would be best for both of us to stay together?
[ Erwin knows very well how particular Levi can be, and he doesn't want to intrude. But truthfully, he thinks it's safest and most convenient for them to be nearby one another--and close enough to Jean and his friend to keep an eye on them. ]
