[Luceti] [1st • Written] (backdated to the 12th ok)
[part 1 - arrival]
[ in the world he comes from, knowledge of what exists beyond the three walls that both confine and protect humanity is limited, even forbidden. Though he's ventured beyond the outermost wall - something that only the Survey Corps is capable of doing, and always with sacrifices - Levi knows humanity has only seen an immeasurable fraction of what it once had. He cannot begin to fathom what the rest of the world could be like outside of their short ventures beyond the walls.
So when he awakens in this place, it doesn't occur to him that it could be a different world entirely.
Although the wings are unsettling. Those are new. And itchy as hell. ]
The fuck...
[ in a world where people can transform into titans taller than the monstrous walls that keep them caged, the sudden appearance of wings somehow doesn't seem that terribly far fetched, even if he has no idea how or why, or - more importantly - whom.]
[Part 2 - recon: Written/Action]
[ It's been several hours now, and all of the information he's gathered so far is confusing at best and disturbing at worst. Knowledge of the outside world had been limited, but knowledge of other worlds? Unheard of. He's still trying to wrap is head around it.
After checking for the gear (nowhere to be found, much to his irritation, and thankfully he hadn't had to go far for his uniform), he finds a bench and takes out the journal-like device and studies it thoughtfully. The technology is foreign, and somehow it seems exceedingly fragile - though there is a space to write, and that's all he needs at the moment to help organize his thoughts.
So the following appears, in meticulous, elegant penmanship that he'd only learned a few years ago:]
[ooc: intro for Levi! Feel free to respond via journal (he's unfamiliar with technology so expect a WTF reaction for the first few replies), or find him wandering around town.
ALSO: Threads with the AOT cast will very likely contain spoilers for events that happen in the manga after the anime!]

- No reports or knowledge so far of Titans among general populace
- No walls - a 'dome' keeps people in by someone/something called the 'Malnosso'
- Inhabitants appear to be from diverse locations
- Human experiments...need more information about these damn wings
- Captors supposedly provide unlimited food, clothing, shelter. Pretty fucking convenient way to keep people placated.
- Currently no 3DMG found; other weapons readily available
- Technology much more advanced than anything found within the walls ("Electricity?")
- Rumors of a war with a group called the 'Third Party' that seeks to exterminate all living within the dome - motivation unknown
- ...animals can talk...fucking creepy; might be useful
Require more information about location, threats, etc.Where the fuck am I and how do I get home.

action
He's distracted from this course when he spots a familiar uniform out of the corner of his eye. He wears his own anytime he leaves to go anywhere, out of a (perhaps vain) desire to feel prepared in the face of the shifting uncertainties presented by this world, and right now is no exception. So he wouldn't think much of it, because Marco is the same way, if not for the out-of-place color green and the wings emblazoned over it.
When he realizes who he's looking at, he falters for a surprised second before striding over. He doesn't have time to sort out his racing thoughts, or the questions billowing in his mind.]
Captain...?
[Holy shit, it really is him... He falls into a rigid salute once he reaches his target.]
perma-action
Oh? So you're here too. Good.
[This was encouraging, actually. Two of them could cover ground more easily, gather more information. Jean was capable, reasonably intelligent, and someone Levi had chosen himself to be part of his new squad. Therefore he was reasonably reliable to do things Levi might need him for in the future.
He gets up from the bench, approaching Jean and giving a vague gesture that he can cut the salute.]
Tell me everything you know about this place, and start with if there's anyone else here that you recognize.
no subject
Problems.
But he answers obediently, staving off his own questions.]
Marco Bott of the 104th trainee corps is here, but nobody else. [And he's sure that the only reason Levi will recognize that name is because it was his gear that had been commandeered by Annie.]
I've been here for a few months, so I have a decent idea of the situation, sir. [He's actually spent a good chunk of time poring over the written Guide for more answers - one doesn't become a top ten graduate through sheer brute strength, after all. But how to summarize it all...uh...] This place is called Luceti - er, the area contained by the barrier, not the world at large, I don't think. People appear at random, against their will. Nobody really knows how or why...
The barrier was built by a group called the Malnosso, but I've heard that they themselves were brought to this world in the same way. It's just that they've been here longer, so they've had the time to set themselves up to control the rest of us. We don't amount to much more than experimental subjects and forced mercenaries.
[Those are the basics, but he'll stop there for now to let it all sink in.]

[ action ]
Following directions, he finds his uniform. The pants are fine, but it doesn't quite leave space for wings, so he'd found another shirt for now--plain, loose enough that the still-tender wings aren't bothered. He keeps his jacket with him, however, folded beneath his arm. He'll have to make modifications, he supposes, but it isn't a pressing issue. His tie had been there as well, and in the interest of not losing it he's looped it around his neck as usual, though it probably looks a bit ridiculous without a collared shirt.
The journal is a curiosity. Unlike Levi, he doesn't attempt to write in it yet. He would prefer to figure out how it works first. So that is precisely what he is attempting to do, in the village proper seated outside the Welcome Center (a useful place). ]
[ perma action ]
He's just finished writing the last item in when he happens to glance up, and a familiar figure walks into his field of view. There's no mistaking Erwin Smith, not even with those wings that look comically small on those broad shoulders.
Levi is up off the bench and striding across the plaza in seconds, steps brisk and sharp on the stones. He calls to him before he reaches Erwin's side.]
Erwin.
no subject
Levi.
[ It's more an acknowledgement than a greeting. He stands, though he allows Levi to reach him before he says anything further. ]
Your status?
[ Not quite 'how are you doing,' but it carries roughly the same meaning. Levi appears unhurt (disregarding injuries he's already aware of) and no more out of sorts than Erwin himself, but it's best to confirm before pressing further. ]

What is the titan you hunt?
[given that up until this point, there had been only one titan they'd been after before they'd known the identity of the others. But Levi will only let as much information be known as necessary.]

I'm sorry, but you won't be able to get home on your own. You'll be stuck here for a while. There's a guide written by miss Raine Sage that you should be able to find in your journal. It explains just about everything you need to know.
[He'll let that sink in for a bit before asking about the world this person is from.]
[ Written ]
He pages through the guide, all useful information it seems. He'll have to read it more thoroughly later.
Stuck here for a while. That's unsettling, particularly given what's supposed to be happening inside the walls right now.
But now for a reply...well there's not much else to say:]
Thanks.
[after a thought, he adds:]
How long is "a while"?

What's a titan and a 3dmg?

That's boring, so she'll also draw a cat smelling flowers beneath that. Yes, good use of time there, Ikki. ]

This, however, appears to be repeat information. So he writes in careful lettering:]

The placating thing works. Some idiots here really think that if we all just hold hands & make nice with the Malnosso, everything will turn out ok!
[written]
Doesn't sound like these Malnosso bastards are the type you make nice with.

When you write in this journal, your words can be read by everyone in this enclosure.
Would you like me to explain electricity?

If you can do so concisely.

And... Titans? Like the Greek ones? Hyperion and Cronus and all that?
[Written]
If it's not physical, how do you know it exists?
No. Most of them don't have names. [none with those names, anyway]
What is "Greek"?
